Day 1: Arrival in Tehran – Half-Day City Tour – Transfer to Rineh (2,300m)

Upon arrival at Imam Khomeini International Airport or the IBIS Airport Hotel, you will be greeted by our team. After a short introduction, enjoy a half-day city tour, visiting Saad Abad Palace and the bustling Tajrish Bazaar.

After a traditional lunch at a riverside restaurant in Darband, you’ll head to Rineh village, located at the base of Mount Damavand. Spend the night in a local guesthouse, preparing for the trek ahead.

  • Transfer: Tehran to Rineh (3 hours, 90 km)
  • Accommodation: Local house (Elevation: 2,600m)

Start your day early with a short drive to the trek’s starting point (2,600m). From there, begin your hike to Camp 1 (Saheb-al-Zaman Mosque, 3,000m), while your equipment is transported by vehicle.

After setting up camp and having lunch, take an acclimatization hike to 3,700m, then return to Camp 1 for a well-deserved rest.

The ascent is non-technical but requires stamina, surefootedness, and determination. At 5,100m, you’ll encounter sulfur vents, a reminder that Damavand is a dormant volcano.

After 6-7 hours, you’ll reach the 5,671m summit, enjoying incredible panoramic views. On clear days, you may even spot Tehran or the Caspian Sea in the distance.
