Oman trekking tour detailed itinerary

Day 1: Flight to Oman and Muscat.

Arriving in Muscat, transfer from the airport to the hotel.

Day 2 : Muscat sightseeing , Transfer to Bilad Sayt

Visit the Grand Mosque of Sultan Qaboos, jewel of the Sultanate of Oman. Very richly decorated, it also houses a very pretty flower garden where the scent of jasmine floats. Then transfer to reach the village of Nakhl, visit its palm grove then have lunch at the restaurant. After the hike, transfer to Bilad Sayt(1010m), a pretty mountain village in the heart of Jebel Akhdar.

Day 3 : Driving to Berkat Al Sharaf then hiking down to Misfat al Abriyyin

In the morning, a transfer takes us to Berkat Al Sharaf(2060m) . Departure for a splendid descending hike towards the pretty little village of Misfat al Abriyyin.

The Al Hamra Valley looms before us; the Jebel Akhdar range passes beneath our feet until reaching Misfat al Abriyyin, an oasis of freshness with numerous date palms, banana trees, mango trees, papaya trees.

Day 4 : Hiking in Jebel Shams and Grand Canyon of Oman – Transfer to Nizwa

Today is a contemplative hike! The balcony trail follows the spectacular Ghul Canyon to an abandoned village. it is the second deepest canyon after the Grand Canyon of the Colorado. All along the route, the views are spectacular.  Return to the village of Al Khitaym and short transfer to visit the village of Al Hamra, one of the oldest in Oman, with Yemenite architecture.

Day 5 : Sightseeing in Nizva, Ibara and moving to the desert

Visit Nizwa city, the former capital and second most important city of Oman, located in a fertile green basin with an eight-kilometer strip of date plantations. You will visit the local market and then the fort. After visiting the old city of Ibra Ibra, you will move towards Bidiyah in Sharqiya province and from there you will move towards the Wahiba Sands desert camp and stay in the desert camp.

Day6: Walking in Wadi Bani Khalid valley

Before breakfast, walk in the sand dunes and return to the camp site, then you will go to Wadi Bani Khalid valley by car and start walking in this beautiful valley from Sayq Wadi Siq. You will move through palm groves and along traditional irrigation ditches and you can take a dip in the wonderful water pools of this valley.  After this pleasant walk, you will return to your desert camp to watch the desert sunset.

Day7: Excursion and hiking in Wadi Tiwi

This morning, head to Wadi Tiwi, for a hike between palm groves and traditional villages along the falajs (ancestral irrigation canals). A few natural water swimming pools offer a welcome refreshing break. Swimming possible (unsupervised). Continuation of the day with a hike in the very pretty wadi Ta’ab. Stay at a local lodge near Wadi Tiwi
