Cultural tour of northern Iran

Northern Iran tour , This is the tour for Persia fans! A round trip is usually limited to the highlights of Tehran, Isfahan and Shiraz. The north often gets the short end of the stick, although it boasts numerous scenic, cultural-historical and religious highlights.

This is the ideal second trip through Persia, which focuses exclusively on the north of the country, the land between the Caspian Sea and the Caucasus in the northwest and the seemingly endless Central Asian deserts east of the Elbrus Mountains. You travel via the Sasanian fire temple

complex of Takht-e-Suleiman to Tabriz and to the Armenian Qareh Kelisa (Thaddeus Church), then on to Ardebil and via the mountain village of Masuleh into the green coastal landscape of the Caspian Sea. Afterwards you drive through the Elbrus Mountains via Damghan. In Damghan there is one of the oldest mosques in Iran, Tepe Hisar.

Continue via Bastam to Nishabur with its beautiful mausoleums and the ruined city of Tus. Afterwards to Mashad, the holy Shiite city, back to Tehran.
